To answer this question, one must first know what an ambassador is. Webster's defines an ambassador as, "an official envoy; esp : a diplomatic agent of the highest rank accredited to a foreign government or sovereign as the resident representative of his own government or sovereign or appointed for a special and often temporary diplomatic assignment. Before continuing with this discussion let me first say that I both agree, and disagree with parts of this definition in the Spiritual. You see, in the natural it is easy for man to replace someone once a country feels as if you are no longer beneficial to it. However, in the Kingdom of God this is drastically different. Although your assignments may change, your eternal call is forever. Let me also say that this post is referring to those who are “set aside” or the “called” of God from the foundation of the earth (Romans 8:29-30). With that said, the bible is specific about being a TRUE follower of Christ. In the words of my Savior “… If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). People often get this aspect of Christianity twisted in the church today. I often hear people calling Jesus their co-pilot, another cliché that sounds good to the ear but bears no understanding whatsoever. My friend if Christ is your co-pilot that means you are flying the plane, and the Captain in charge! In order to be an authentic ambassador for Christ and not an imposter you must place your entire life in His hands. Your life is no longer yours but that of your God, and your priorities should line up with building the Kingdom of God and not your own. Remember you are an envoy or official messenger for Christ, and yes you are a foreigner to this world for you no longer walk after it. (2 Corinthians 5:16-18, Romans 12:2)
